Hair Wigs

The first time I heard the word hair wigs it thought of the "Fresh Fish Sold Here," story. Let me tell it to you and maybe you will understand. A fisherman made a sign for his fish store. It said Fresh fish sold here. Then he thought to himself where else would it be sold if not here and he erased the word here. Then he thought to himself what are e doing if not selling it? Of course I am selling it and not giving it for a present. So he erased the word sold. Then he thought to himself who sells not fresh fish. Of course the fish is fresh and he erased the word fresh. He was left with fish.

Well hair wigs, is not quite as long. But I thought to myself what else is a wig made out of besides hair. All wigs are hair wigs. It would even sound good "hair wigs sold hair."

But then I learned a little bit about wigs and I realized not all wigs are made of hair. First of all a lot of wigs are made out of synthetic material. These are technically not hair buy thin plastic fibers. I would have a hard time calling it hair wigs. But when you hair or here, I mean hear what other types of wigs are around, you will agree that maybe we should call these wigs hair wigs. But never call them here wigs or hear wigs.

Synthetic wigs are at least designed to look like hair. Then there are costume wigs which are somewhat designed to look like hair but in very funny colors and styles. These wigs are generally so cheap they really don't give the appearance of hair wigs at all. So I would have a hard time calling those hair wigs.

But then we get to the category of non-hair wigs as I just decided that they should be called. Now lets say we'll define hair as a bunch of hair thin strands. So, even the costume wigs, though the strands are course and fuzzy and don't look like hair they are certainly patterned after hair. What would you say to thick yarn? Well it does have the quality of a strand, but it is not nearly thin enough to be called a hair. I would have a hard time calling that one a hair wig. There are wigs made out of foil strips, again no one will mistake that one for a hair wig. And then you have your wigs that are made out of feathers which look nothing like hair at all. You have wigs made out of packaging material, wigs made out of beads, wigs made out of wires, wigs made out of foam, wigs made out of plastic...use your imagination. None of these can be called hair wigs. There are even wigs made out of sea shell.

So the next time you want to buy a wig, make sure it says hair wigs sold hair, not just wigs sold hair ( and of course not here wigs sold hair.)

If I mixed up any of the hairs or heres or hairs that was just to see if you were paying attention.)
